Help.com was originally founded in 2014 by Brent Oxley, founder of HostGator.com, who spearheaded the creation of its core customer service product GatorChat. Help started as an extension of GatorChat, building off of the lessons learned from scaling a customer service-oriented business from 1-1,000 employees. Oxley teamed up with Ben Gabler, formerly Sr. Product Manager of Hosting at GoDaddy.com, in 2015 to lead the initiative.
During 13+ years of business experience, Gabler became increasingly aware that online service tools are essential, and customer service is often a key differentiator.
