AirMap startup on BuiltinNode.com

On December 17, 1903, when the Wright Brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk, NC, few could have imagined how our huge planet would soon be so intimately connected by manned aircraft.

Today, a new set of connections is developing at the local level with unmanned aircraft, or drones. At AirMap, we’re helping make drones a part of everyday life by building the airspace management system of the future.

AirMap works collaboratively with industry partners to create the future for drones. We focus exclusively on providing accurate, reliable and trustworthy airspace information so that makers, operators, and stakeholders in our nascent industry can let innovation take flight.

Based in Santa Monica, AirMap was founded by Ben Marcus and Greg McNeal in January 2015. AirMap is a member of the Small UAV Coalition and the NASA Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) program.
